And the fried baby corn then tossed in a spicy-sweet gravy made with onions, green capsicum, spices, and sauces. Once you learn how to make a sauce and gravy for Manchurian, you can make Manchurian of almost any of your favourite vegetables. It is an ultimate spicy and crunchy starter.

This baby corn Manchurian recipe is one of the simplest dishes you can make as a nice starter for parties. With simple and easy to procure ingredients you really can’t go wrong. And the best part is, this recipe is healthy, unlike most chili baby corn recipes. This dish is enjoyable when served with fried rice or noodles. It is a popular ingredient in Chinese cuisine.

Baby corn Manchurian recipe is one of the simplest dishes you can make as a nice starter for parties. With simple and easy to procure ingredients you really can’t go wrong. And the best part is, this recipe is healthy, unlike most chili baby corn recipes.

Ingredients

  • Baby corn- 200 gms

  • Cornflour- 3 tbsp

  • Refined flour(maida)-4 tbsp

  • Salt as needed

  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp

  • Oil for frying

  • For manchurian sauce
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp

  • Oil- 3 tbsp

  • Onion (cubes)- 1 large

  • Green capsicum (cubes)- 1 small

  • Tomato sauce- 1 tbsp

  • Soya sauce- 1 tbsp

  • Red chilli sauce- 1 tsp

  • Salt as per taste

Directions

  • First wash baby corn well. Then you can also boil them in water for 4 – 5 minutes. Then drain the water.
  • Now cut them diagonally. Take a bowl, add refined flour, corn flour, salt and pepper powder, then add a little water into it and make a thick batter.
  • Now add the baby corns into the batter and mix it properly.
  • Then heat oil in a kadhai and fry the baby corn in hot oil until it looks golden and crisp. Set them aside.
  • To make manchurian sauce
  • First heat a pan with oil on a high flame. Then add ginger garlic paste and fry it until it turns fragrant.
  • Now add onions and saute it for 2 – 3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Now add the capsicum and fry it for 2 – 3 minutes as well.
  • Then add tomato sauce, red chilli sauce and soya sauce into it.
  • Pour little water and cook until the sauce thickens. Now add the fried baby corn into it and add salt as needed and mix well.
  • Now in a bowl, add 1 tbsp corn flour with little water and mix well.
  • Add the water into the baby corn and fry it for one minute.
  • Now switch off the flame, baby corn manchurian is ready to serve hot.
