It’s a famous street food all over India. The main ingredients of this recipe are boiled potato, tamarind chutney, and mint chutney with spices and sev.

Dahi puri is a snack, originating from India, which is especially popular in the state of Maharastra, India. The dish is a form of chaat and originates from the city of Mumbai. It is served with mini puri shells, which are more popularly recognized from the dish panipuri.

It is perfectly suited as a party snack as it can be easily prepared in large quantities, ingredients can be prepared in advance, just needs assembling at the time of serving and guests can customize it to their taste.

Chaat is an integral part of Indian cuisine and this Indian street food is loved by all. This chaat can be made easily at home with some are pre preps and they taste delicious. They are very hygienic to eat at home.

Here I am sharing, how to make dahi puri at home as this is far healthier than having it on the street. The quality of ingredients used is of much higher quality and this recipe is not very complicated if you have deep-fried puris and chutney on hand. What makes a Dahi puri truly divine is obviously the humble curds which are made daily in every Indian household.

Ingredients

  • Boiled potato- 2 nos

  • Salt as per taste

  • Red chilli powder

  • Finely chopped onion- 2 medium nos

  • Cumin powder- 1 tsp

  • Chaat masala powder- 1 tbsp

  • Ready-made tamarind paste

  • Sev- 1/2 cup

  • Curd- 1/2 cup

  • Finely chopped green chilli- 2 nos

  • Black salt as needed

  • Readymade puri- 10 nos

Directions

  • First get a bowl, add the boiled potato, salt as per taste, red chilli powder, chaat masala, finely chopped onion and chopped green chilli into them, then mash it properly and keep aside.
  • Now for making dahi puri, add mashed potato inside the puri, then add chopped onions, chopped green chilies, dahi, tamarind chutney and sev on the top.
  • Then sprinkle some cumin powder, chaat powder, red chilli powder and bit salt on the top.
  • Now your dahi puri is ready to be served.
