Eggless Jeera cookies are an amazing mix of savoury and sweet and a welcome break from the overloaded sweet cookies. The savoury cookies will satisfy your sweet and salty craving all in one go. They are buttery, crispy, addictive and packed with the fragrant earthy aroma of roasted cumin. One would love to enjoy these salted jeera biscuits as their tea time snacks. From kids to adults, everyone loves the crispy sweet and salty biscuits that are also the perfect munchies for those odd hours hunger pangs. Cookies and biscuits are generally an adopted or an influenced recipe to Indian cuisine. This recipe tastes great when made using plain flour. However, if you don’t like plain flour then you could use wheat flour as well. Moreover, you can also add tutti fruity, almonds, cashews on the top. Jeera cookies is almost everybody’s all time favourite. Moreover, these cookies have a longer shelf life and hence recommended to preserve in an airtight container.

Eggless Jeera Cookies

A mix of savoury and sweet satisfying your sweet and salty craving all in one go.


  • Refined flour- 200 gms

  • Butter- 100 gm

  • Powdered sugar- 1/2 cup

  • Baking powder- 1 tbsp

  • Baking soda- 1 tsp

  • Salt- 1 tsp

  • Jeera- 3 tbsp

  • Warm milk as per need.


  • Heat a pan on the medium flame, add jeera and fry it for 1 minute and keep it aside.
  • In a bowl, mix butter and powdered sugar together. Beat this mixture till it becomes creamy.
  • once the butter and sugar cream is done, mix refined flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and roasted jeera to this and mix them well.
  • Add milk and form a dough out of this mixture.
  • Roll the dough and sprinkle jeera on top.
  • Then make shape to the cookies as per your choices.
  • Now place them on a baking tray.
  • First preheat the oven at 180 degree.
  • Now bake these cookies at 180 degree for 20 minutes.
  • Now jeera cookies are done, after cooling down enjoy these cookies with a cup of coffee or tea.
