Mexican Paneer Tacos – a customized Indo Mexican dish, composed of a corn or wheat flour tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. Tacos can be made from variety of fillings. And garnishes like salsa, chilli, pepper, tomatoes, onions and lettuce. Mostly served as tea time snacks, evening snacks, starter or appetiser. Tacos – a Mexican Classic, a crunchy flour/corn tortilla or tacos delicious filling and topped with a number of fixins! Tacos are a hit dish with adults and kids alike. When we are not visiting a restaurant, I simply make this dish at home.
I once tried to make the taco shells at home but it didn’t came out nicely. I buy readymade taco shells and made the stuffings and the salsa at home. You can make any types of stuffings. If you are a vegetarian then you can make various types of paneer stuffings. Or maybe you can use corn or veggies for stuffing. Use a soft tortilla instead of the hard taco shell. And add the stuffings into it. I do have a goal to make the taco shells myself at home someday. Hopefully, it would come out in nice shape.

Ingredients
- For the green chutney
Curd- 1/2 cup
Mint leaves few
Coriander leaves few
Garlic cloves- 4 – 5 nos
Ginger- small one
Green chilli- 2 no
Salt as per taste
- For the paneer tikka filling
Paneer- 100 gms
Curd- 1/2 cup
Onion (cubed)- 1 no
Green capsicum (cubed)- 1 no
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Tandoori masala powder- 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
Red food colour- a pinch (it’s optional)
Oil- 3 tbsp
Salt as per taste
- For tacos
Taco shells- 4 nos
Green chutney
Some grated paneer or you can use grated mozzarella cheese
Directions
- For the green chutney
- Take a grinding jar, add curd, mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, green chilli and salt as per taste into it.
- Then make a smooth paste and keep it aside.
- For the paneer stuffing
- Take a bowl, then add curd, paneer cubes, cubed green capsicum, cubed onion, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, food colour and salt as per taste into it.
- Then mix everything well and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, heat oil in a pan on medium flame. After oil became hot, pour the marinated paneer into that pan.
- Then cook it until it will dry.
- Now switch off the flame, paneer fry is ready.
- For the tacos
- Heat the oven and bake the taco shells for 5 minutes until crispy.
- Now, first place the green chutney inside the tacos, then add the panner fry inside, then add more green chutney on the top. At last add sprinkle grated panner on the top.
- Like same fill all the taco shells.
- Now the paneer tacos are ready to serve.
